R+M Turns Food For Thought Into Food For Action
Cary, N.C. – May 13, 2010 – Admit it … when we think of hungry children, most of us envision children from third-world countries, not children in our own communities. Right? Well think again.
When R+M realized how great the need was locally, and the magnitude of hunger’s effects on children, their team sprang into action.
“Organizing a drive to collect food for hungry kids was the easiest decision we’ve ever made,” says Susan McDonnell, director of brand culture at R+M who led the charge that collected over 500lbs of nutritious food. Susan attributes their team’s great network of family, friends and clients who share their values of health and well-being. She continued, “The second easiest decision we made was to help the Food Shuttle’s communication team get their arms around their branding and messaging strategies.”
“Hunger is everyone’s problem. We are grateful to our friends at R+M for raising much needed food and offering their professional experience to help drive hunger from the community,” said Jill Staton Bullard, co-founder and executive director of the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle.
R+M points out that children’s abilities to physically function, mentally focus and personally shine are greatly effected by food insecurity. They encourage people to help children reach their full potential with a full stomach.
R+M creates experiences that get people talking about brands that positively impact our health, well-being and social responsibility. The agency’s whole-brand approach leverages traditional tactics alongside unconventional approaches that connect our clients with their customers. Though the agency has garnered its share of local and national recognition, it’s most proud of its passion for hunger relief and prevention, encouraging kids to be active and getting client high fives for making marketing budgets act twice their size.
