Cary, N.C. – November 11, 2010 – That’s right, the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle was hungry for a new board member and Greg Norton of R+M, a brand experience agency, filled their plate.
R+M announces Executive Vice President Greg Norton has been selected as a new member of the Board of Directors for Inter-Faith Food Shuttle – a non-profit organization that pioneers innovative, transformative solutions designed to end hunger in our Triangle community. Greg’s board appointment will begin January 1, 2011.
The Board of Directors is charged with fiscal oversight of the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle; reviewing, approving and monitoring how the organization manages its resources. This responsibility is matched by a commitment to actively participate in meeting fundraising goals.
“They had me at ‘hello.’ My first experience with Inter-Faith Food Shuttle was through R+M’s support of their BackPack Buddies Program, one of the many programs that address food insecurity in the seven-county Triangle area. This experience awakened me from my blissful ignorance that hungry bellies are exclusive to distant countries and far-off lands. In our community alone there are over 165,000 people living in poverty and more than 100,000 children struggling with hunger. I share the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle’s belief that hunger is unacceptable in our neighborhoods and that all children deserve the chance to have healthy meals and the opportunity to break the cycle of poverty,” stated Norton.
“Greg’s expertise at branding will help our mission reach and resonate with people in our community, educating them about our innovative strategies to improve access to nutritious, locally sourced food,” added Jill Staton Bullard, co-founder and executive director of Inter-Faith Food Shuttle. “Greg is a determined and passionate advocate for hunger relief and prevention, committed to creating a hunger-free community. We are thrilled to have him join the Board.”
Norton will be joining other committed Board members including representatives from WakeMed, Red Hat, Blue Cross Blue Shield Foundation and Capital Broadcasting Company, Inc.
R+M creates brand experiences for those who value health, well-being and the active pursuit. The agency’s Whole Brand approach goes beyond traditional tactics, maximizing marketing dollars, increasing sales opportunities and elevating brand top-of-mind. Get activated at www.rmagency.com.
